About Us

Sharing The Vision was established in September of 2000 being founded by Jim and Teresa White. The Lord put this name on Teresa's heart early in 1996 as they began full-time missionary service in Haiti. This name represents their desire to share God's vision with others through sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with leadership and discipleship training.

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Ps 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Sharing The Vision, known as STV, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples for the work He is doing upon the earth, and meeting the needs of the poor. The mission also desires to work in unity with churches, other ministries and missions for the Glory of God and the Good of All.

Mark 12:30-31

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

1 Cor 3:9 For we are fellow workers, joint laborers together, with and for God...

This ministry was birthed in Jim's heart in 1982, the year in which he was saved when he received the burden to serve God and the people of Haiti. After 14 years of being saved and serving in the local church Jim and his family sold all their belongings and moved to Haiti to be full-time missionaries. STV worked with several national churches and Christian schools. One goal the Whites had was to was to break unhealthy dependencies to the Western world through sound Biblical teachings. Dependency continues to be one of the greatest problems in third world countries. This mission's objective is to teach and exemplify total dependency upon God and faith in His Word.

Ps 91:14-16

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

After serving 7 1/2 years in Haiti, Jim was unjustly expelled from the country. (Click here for Prison Story)  Sharing The Vision is currently working in the Dominican Republic and seeing amazing things happen in the lives of the nationals there. The Holy Spirit is transforming God's people into vessels that He can work through. The Dominican Christians began to repent of their complacency and cry out for more of God. Revival was the cry of many churches in the Dominican Republic. The Whites are now pastoring a small church in Santiago which grew out of a weekly Bible Study they had begun. The church is called International Chistian Church (ICC) and worships in the languages of the island, Spanish, English, and Creole. Jim preaches and teaches in English with everything being translated into Spanish and Creole. Teresa is the worship leader with an amazing gift for bringing all 3 languages together in a blended worship service. We are currently the only English speaking church in Santiago.

2 Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will  forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

STV is honored to be a part of what God is doing in the Dominican Republic. We know that when God is working with His children the devil is working against them. Jesus taught us to warn others that there is a deceiver, and he is very subtle. This is why we stress to new and growing Christians the importance of studying God's Word. This is the  ONLY WAY we can know Jesus more intimately. This is the true desire of our hearts in Sharing The Vision, that people will come into a close, personal and very intimate love relationship with Jesus. We know that when this happens in a person's life then the rest of life's difficulties seem very small and insignificant.

Matt 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"
